Skipper Chuck was a popular children's television host in the South Florida area in the 1960s and 1970s. His real name was Charles Frederick Seeberger, and he was born on November 29, 1921, in Lakewood, Ohio. He served in the US Navy during World War II and later worked as a radio announcer in several cities around the country before settling in Miami, Florida.

Skipper Chuck hosted a weekday morning children's program called "Skipper Chuck's Popeye Playhouse" on WTVJ-TV in Miami from 1957 to 1979. The show featured cartoons, skits, and musical performances, as well as educational segments about science, history, and other topics. Skipper Chuck was known for his friendly demeanor, nautical-themed attire, and catchphrase "Hi there, hi there, hi there!"

After retiring from television, Skipper Chuck worked as a volunteer for various charities and organizations in South Florida. He passed away on June 16, 2015, at the age of 93. The legacy of his beloved children's program lives on in the memories of his many fans and former viewers.
